Locke's ideas are among a number of new ideas that will lead to new thoughts about political questions such as
-How rulers are selected
-The function of government
-The function of government
-How a government should be organized -
-The rights people have and where they emanate (come) from
-Where power lies
-Where power lies
With these new ideas, the answers to these questions start to be:
How rulers are selected - shouldn’t based in faith; should in some manner involve the will of the people
The function of government - serve the people; protect the rights of the people
How a government should be organized - independent branches
The rights people have - are natural, apply to people because they are human
Where power lies - with the people; leaders and representatives are elected in elections
